Cherry Blossom Season
Hakodate and Matsumae Town are known as some of the most popular cherry blossom viewing destinations in Hokkaido. During the cherry blossom season, more travelers visit the area to enjoy sightseeing by rental car. If your trip is planned around cherry blossoms, booking as early as possible is recommended.
Summer Vacation and Obon Holiday Period
The summer vacation and Obon holiday period are also busy seasons due to the increase in family trips. Vehicle types suitable for larger groups, such as minivans and SUVs, may become unavailable quickly.
Autumn Foliage Season
Many visitors travel to places such as Onuma Park to enjoy the beautiful autumn colors. When the autumn foliage season overlaps with consecutive holidays, demand for rental cars increases, so making a reservation well in advance is recommended.
Benefits of Booking Early
Easier to Choose Your Preferred Vehicle Type
One of the biggest advantages of booking early is that you have a better chance of selecting a vehicle that matches your number of travelers and amount of luggage. If you wait until the last minute, you may not be able to select your preferred car model.
Compare Multiple Plans
The earlier you make your reservation, the easier it is to compare various rental car companies and pricing plans. You can also take your time reviewing details such as insurance coverage and optional services to find the package that best suits your needs.
When making a reservation, be sure to check the following details:
Rental date and time
Vehicle type
Insurance coverage
Optional services (child seat, ETC card, etc.)
Drop-off location and time
Checking these details in advance will help ensure a smoother rental process on the day of your trip.
If You're Unsure, Book Once Your Travel Plans Are Finalized
Instead of putting off your reservation, it is recommended to book your rental car once your travel dates are finalized. By making a reservation early, you will have a better chance of choosing a package that matches your preferred conditions.
