This station on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line is located conveniently in-between Osaka and Tokyo. Aside from Mt Fuji, the area is home to many historic sights as well.
Atami is a popular hot spring town in eastern Shizuoka. There is a free ashiyu public foot bath called Ieyasu-no-yu on the plaza in front of the station (open from 9am to 4pm).
