Aomori Prefecture, the northernmost prefecture on the Japanese main island of Honshu, is visited by over 10 million tourists each year. Aomori Airport provides connections to all major destinations in Japan, as well as to Seoul in Korea, and Tianjin in China.
Aomori City's station is a convenient transportation hub within easy reach of Aomori Prefecture's famous sights. In the past this station was a terminal from which passengers would transfer from the Tohoku Main Line onto a ferry bound for Hokkaido. These days this station is the terminus for 3 different railway lines: the Ou Main line, the Tsuruga Line, and the Aoimori Line.
Hachinohe Station is a stop on the Tohoku Shinkansen line, convenient for access to Aomori and south to Tokyo. The station's interior is designed to resemble a ship, housing facilities such a hotel, a library and a variety of restaurants.
